49-924. Violations; civil penalty A. A person who violates this article or any permit, rule or order issued or adopted pursuant to this article is subject to a civil penalty not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars for each day of violation. B. The attorney general shall bring an action to recover penalties under this section in the name of this state in the superior court in the county in which the violation occurred or in a county in which the department maintains an office. C. The director may suspend or revoke any permit issued to a person who violates this article or any permit, rule or order issued or adopted pursuant to this article, unless the director has previously assessed a civil penalty for the violation pursuant to section 49-923, subsection B. D. All civil penalties assessed pursuant to this section shall be deposited, pursuant to sections 35-146 and 35-147, in the state general fund.
