5-236. Violations; classification A. A person is guilty of a class 1 misdemeanor and may be subject to license revocation, denial or suspension if the person conducts, holds, sponsors, sanctions or gives boxing or other contests that are subject to regulation by the commission without first procuring an appropriate license or approval as prescribed in this article. B. A person is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor and may be subject to license revocation, denial or suspension if the person does either of the following: 1. Participates in any contest that is subject to regulation by the commission without first procuring an appropriate license or approval as prescribed in this article. 2. Violates this chapter or any rule or regulation adopted pursuant to this chapter.
