5-561. Department of public safety; investigation; authority; payment The director of the department of public safety shall order an investigation into any violation of a statute of this state which pertains to the conduct of the state lottery. The director shall include in the commission's overhead expenses and pay, upon certified invoice submitted by the director of the department of public safety, any charges for actual expenses as a result of investigations and related law enforcement activities, or for any activity directly or indirectly related to the lottery operation. The charges may include costs for personnel, supplies, materials, equipment and travel within or without the state.
