9-973. Disability insurance for volunteer fire fighters In addition to the authority granted pursuant to other provisions of this article, the board of trustees, with the approval of the mayor and council if for a volunteer fire department or the board of trustees with the approval of the board of supervisors if for a volunteer fire district, may purchase disability insurance for the volunteer firemen with funds from the volunteer fire fighters' relief and pension fund.
