(a) The Governor shall appoint the Director of the Division of Labor, subject to confirmation by the Senate.(b)(1) The director shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor.(2) The director shall report to the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Licensing.(3) The director shall be a person who, on account of his or her previous vocation, employment, or affiliation can be classed as a representative of employees.(4) [Repealed.](c) The director shall give a bond in the sum of two thousand dollars ($2,000) with sureties to be approved by the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Licensing, conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of his or her office.(d) The director shall also take the oath of office prescribed by the Arkansas Constitution.(e) The director shall provide himself or herself with a suitable seal, which shall be judicially noticed.Amended by Act 2023, No. 794,§ 12, eff. 4/12/2023.Amended by Act 2019, No. 910,§ 5283, eff. 7/1/2019.Acts 1937, No. 161, §§ 3, 18; Pope's Dig., §§ 8499, 8514; A.S.A. 1947, §§ 81-103, 81-117; Acts 1989, No. 927, § 1; 2009, No. 727, § 1.
