(a)(1) No child under the age of sixteen (16) years shall be employed upon the stage of any theater or concert hall or in connection with any theatrical performance or other exhibition or show, and no child shall be employed who has not passed four (4) yearly grades in the public school or equivalent thereof.(2) However, a child under sixteen (16) years may be employed in a theatrical production or in a saloon, resort, or bar when the child and his or her parent or guardian perform together as part of the same show and the parent or guardian remains with the child in order to supervise him or her.(b) No child under the age of sixteen (16) years shall be employed, permitted, or suffered to work in any capacity:(1) In, about, or in connection with any processes in which dangerous or poisonous acids or gases or other chemicals are used;(2) In soldering;(3) In occupations causing dust in injurious quantities;(4) In scaffolding;(5) In heavy work in the building trades;(6) In any tunnel or excavation;(7) In any mine, coal breaker, coke oven, or quarry; or(8) In any pool or billiard room.
