(a) The salaries and expenses provided for in this chapter shall be paid by warrant upon a voucher properly drawn by the Director of the Division of Arkansas State Police and paid out of any funds now available for the payment of salaries and expenses of the Division of Arkansas State Police from the Division of Arkansas State Police Fund or any other fund as provided by law.(b)(1) The director may authorize overtime payments from funds and appropriations reimbursable to the division by federal or local authorities that are provided for overtime payments to employees of the division who are assigned or may be assigned by the Secretary of the Department of Public Safety to special law enforcement task forces and other special programs.(2) Overtime payments under this subsection shall be processed through the state accounting system and shall be in addition to the regular salaries and benefits accruing to the employee.(3) Payment of overtime is the preferred method of implementing this subsection.Amended by Act 2023, No. 803,§ 45, eff. 7/1/2023.Amended by Act 2019, No. 910,§ 5776, eff. 7/1/2019.Acts 1945, No. 231, § 14; A.S.A. 1947, § 42-414.
