(a) All employees of the Department of Corrections shall be under the direct supervision and control of the Secretary of the Department of Corrections, who shall report directly to the Board of Corrections.(b) The Compliance Division, which consists of but is not limited to a compliance attorney and an auditor, shall be under the direct authority of the board.(c)(1) The department may award additional compensation to exempt employees who are members of the emergency response unit.(2) These employees are eligible to receive up to three percent (3%) per hour of additional compensation for the actual number of hours that an employee spends on an emergency response action.Amended by Act 2023, No. 890,§ 37, eff. 7/1/2023.Amended by Act 2021, No. 152,§ 5, eff. 7/28/2021.Acts 1991, No. 1078, §§ 28, 29; 1993, No. 885, § 1.
