Section 12-27-150 - Death benefit

(a) Subject to the approval of the Board of Corrections, the Secretary of the Department of Corrections may authorize the payment of a death benefit from special revenues held by the Department of Corrections or its various divisions to any department employee killed in the line of duty.(b) The amount of the death benefit shall not exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000).(c) The secretary shall promulgate any rules necessary to implement this section.(d) Funds distributed under this section are subject to audit by Arkansas Legislative Audit.Added by Act 2022, No. 203,§ 47, eff. 7/1/2022.
