(a) The Secretary of the Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism is authorized to employ such full-time or temporary professional, technical, and other consulting services as the secretary shall determine necessary or desirable in assisting the Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism to carry out effectively the authority, functions, powers, and duties conferred and imposed upon it by this subchapter.(b) However, the salaries of regular employees shall be governed by the provisions of the Uniform Classification and Compensation Act, § 21-5-201 et seq., and by the provisions of the Regular Salary Procedures and Restrictions Act, §§ 19-4-1601 and 21-5-101.(c) The Director of the Arkansas Museum and Cultural Center shall be employed by the secretary.Amended by Act 2019, No. 910,§ 5579, eff. 7/1/2019.Acts 1971, No. 515, § 11; 1979, No. 832, § 9; A.S.A. 1947, § 6-1211; Acts 1991, No. 343, § 3(b).
