A housing authority shall have the power, acting through one (1) or more commissioners or other persons designated by the authority:(1) To conduct examinations and investigations and to hear testimony and take proof under oath at public or private hearings on any matter material for its information;(2) To administer oaths;(3) To issue subpoenas requiring the attendance of witnesses or the production of books and papers; and(4) To issue commissions for the examination of witnesses who are outside of this state or unable to attend before the authority or excused from attendance.Acts 1937, No. 298, § 8; Pope's Dig., § 10066; A.S.A. 1947, § 19-3011.
