Section 14-42-204 - Election returns generally

(a) The returns of all municipal corporations shall be made to the county board of election commissioners of the county in which the corporation is situated and shall be opened by them within three (3) days after their receipt.(b)(1) The election board shall count the vote as it appears from the pollbooks, make an abstract thereof, and forward it to the mayor.(2) In like manner and without delay, the board shall furnish to each candidate elected a certificate of election or leave it at his or her usual place of abode.Acts 1875, No. 1, § 72, p. 1; C. & M.
