(a) If, on the effective date of the reorganization of any city under this chapter, a civil service plan for any municipal employees or officers shall be in effect in the city, reorganization under this chapter shall not terminate or otherwise impair the civil service plan. That plan shall remain in full force and effect, subject to § 14-47-131, following the reorganization under this chapter.(b) The municipal civil service plans made available under the provisions of § 14-49-101 et seq., § 14-50-101 et seq., and § 14-51-101 et seq. may be adopted, subject to § 14-47-131, by any city reorganized under this chapter.Acts 1957, No. 8, § 13; A.S.A. 1947, § 19-720.1.
