Section 14-48-108 - Calling of elections for directors and mayor

(a)(1) Within ten (10) days after the designation of the four (4) wards, the Secretary of State by proclamation in accordance with § 7-11-101 et seq. shall call special primary and general elections to be held in the municipality for the purpose of electing seven (7) directors and a mayor.(2)(A) The primary election shall be held in accordance with § 7-11-101 et seq.(B) The special general election shall be held in accordance with § 7-11-101 et seq.(b) These elections shall be called and conducted, and the results shall be determined and certified, as provided in § 14-48-109.Acts 1967, No. 36, § 4; A.S.A. 1947, § 19-804; Acts 2005, No. 2145, § 36; 2007, No. 1049, § 55; 2009, No. 1480, § 73.
