Section 14-50-209 - Investigative powers

(a) In any investigation conducted by the commission provided for in this chapter, the commission shall have the power to subpoena, the power to require the attendance of any witness and the production of any papers or records pertinent to the investigation, and the power to administer oaths to the witnesses.(b) To punish for contempt the nonattendance of witnesses, or the failure to produce books or papers, or the misbehavior of any person during the investigation, the commission may impose a fine of not less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) for each offense.Acts 1963, No. 221, § 12; A.S.A. 1947, § 19-1430.
