The city council shall have the power, in cities of the first class, to prescribe, by ordinance, the width of the tire of all wagons, carts, drays, and other vehicles used in transportation of persons or articles from one (1) part of the city to another, or in the transportation of coal, wood, stone, lumber, or iron into the city.Acts 1875, No. 1, § 7, p. 1; C. & M.
