(a) The Arkansas Economic Development Commission is the state agency responsible for implementing programs and policies aimed at improving the state's economic condition.(b) The purposes of the commission are to: (1) Serve as the primary governmental source for carrying out the Governor's plan for economic development in the state;(2) Promote the state with a central focus on state, local, and regional economic development efforts;(3) Coordinate the activities of private and public efforts to advance economic development in the state;(4) Compile and disseminate all available information pertinent to the economic opportunities afforded by the state;(5) Receive and disburse funds for the purpose of community and economic development; and(6) Perform other duties as designated by the Governor.Amended by Act 2019, No. 202,§ 2, eff. 7/24/2019.Amended by Act 2013, No. 1185,§ 1, eff. 8/16/2013.Acts 1939, No. 68, § 3; A.S.A. 1947, § 9-501; Acts 1997, No. 540, § 65.
