Section 15-23-302 - Intent

(a) It is declared that certain rivers in the State of Arkansas possess outstanding natural, scenic, educational, geological, recreational, historical, fish and wildlife, scientific, and cultural values of great present and future benefit to the people.(b) Those rivers that are identified as possessing these values shall be considered for inclusion into the Arkansas Natural and Scenic Rivers System.(c) In all planning for the rivers' use and development, full consideration and evaluation shall be given to the rivers as a natural resource so that they shall be used and preserved for the welfare of all people.(d) It is declared as the policy of the State of Arkansas that a balance be established between the alterations by man and the protection of natural beauty along certain rivers of this state.Acts 1979, No. 257, § 2; A.S.A. 1947, § 9-1202.
