Section 15-72-216 - Requirement that dry or abandoned wells be plugged - Notice of abandonment

(a) Each abandoned well and each dry hole promptly shall be plugged in the manner and within the time required by rules to be prescribed by the Oil and Gas Commission. The owner of the well shall give notice upon a form the commission may prescribe of the drilling of each dry hole and of the owner's intention to abandon.(b) No well shall be abandoned until the notice has been given and no fee shall be required to be paid with this notice.Amended by Act 2019, No. 315,§ 1246, eff. 7/24/2019.Acts 1939, No. 105, § 25; 1979, No. 113, § 4; 1981, No. 523, § 6; A.S.A. 1947, § 53-125.
