Section 16-10-115 - Trial by temporary judge

(a) On stipulation of the litigant parties, any court of this state, except in criminal causes, may order a cause to be tried by a temporary judge who is licensed in Arkansas to practice law. The temporary judge shall be sworn and empowered to act until final determination of the cause.(b) The stipulation of the litigant parties shall include the amount of compensation to be paid the temporary judge for trying the cause and the method of paying the compensation.(c) The Supreme Court may adopt rules setting forth the procedure for implementing this section.Acts 1981, No. 357, § 1; A.S.A. 1947, § 22-147.
