Section 16-20-201 - Bond

(a) The Clerk of the Supreme Court shall, before he enters on the duties of his office, enter into bond to the state in any sum not less than three thousand dollars ($3,000), with good and sufficient security. The bond shall be approved by the court in term time, or by either of the justices thereof in vacation, conditioned upon the faithful discharge of his office, that he will seasonably record the judgments, decrees, orders, and proceedings of the court, and do and perform all other things that may be required of him by law, and that he, his executors, or administrators will deliver to his successor, safe and undefaced, all books, papers, records, seals, and furniture belonging to his office. The bond shall be filed in the office of the Secretary of State.(b) The Clerk of the Supreme Court shall be liable on his official bond for the acts of his deputies in the discharge of their duties as such.Rev.
