When proper and timely request is made to the court for an order of examination and observation and there is not sufficient time to complete the examination and submit the report before scheduled proceedings in the case, the court may order examination and immediately continue the case until the examination is complete and the report of that examination is submitted to the court.Acts 1971, No. 433, ch. 6, § 4; A.S.A. 1947, § 43-1307; Acts 2001, No. 1551, § 10.
