Section 17-29-312 - Suspension or revocation - Procedure

(a) If the State Board of Embalmers, Funeral Directors, Cemeteries, and Burial Services has reason to believe that a person to whom a license has been issued has become unfit to practice as an embalmer or funeral director or has violated any of the provisions of this subchapter and § 23-61-1101 et seq., or any rules prescribed, or whenever written complaint charging the holder of a license with the violation of any provision of this subchapter or § 23-61-1101 et seq. is filed with the board, the board shall start an investigation within thirty (30) days of the receipt of the complaint.(b) If from such an investigation it shall appear to the board that there is reasonable ground for belief that the accused may have been guilty of the violations charged, a time and place shall be set by the board for a hearing to determine whether or not the license of the accused shall be suspended or revoked. Any member of the board shall have the right to administer oaths to witnesses.
