Section 17-49-204 - Penalties

(a) Any person violating any provision of this subchapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, except as herein otherwise provided, and shall upon conviction be punished by a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of not less than thirty (30) days nor more than one hundred (100) days. Each day's operation in violation of any provision of this subchapter shall be a separate offense.(b) Any motor vehicle operated in violation of this subchapter shall be kept in the custody of any state, county, or township officer sworn to preserve the peace and shall not be operated except under his or her authority and solely for the purpose of taking it to the nearest convenient place of custody until the provisions of this subchapter have been complied with.Acts 1941, No. 138, §§ 12, 15; A.S.A. 1947, §§ 84-2412, 84-2414.
