(a) It is the purpose of this chapter to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public by providing for the licensing and regulation of persons engaged in the practice of dietetics.(b) Nothing in this chapter shall prevent the furnishing of general nutritional information on food, food materials, or dietary supplements or the explanation to customers about foods or food products in connection with the sale, marketing, and distribution of those products.Acts 1989, No. 392, § 2.
