Section 17-92-701 - Definitions

As used in this subchapter:(1) 'Board-approved intervenors' means persons trained in intervention and designated by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy to implement the intervention process when necessary;(2) 'Impaired pharmacist' means a pharmacist who is unable to practice pharmacy with reasonable skill, competency, or safety to the public because of substance abuse;(3) 'Impaired pharmacist program' means a plan approved by the board for intervention, treatment, and rehabilitation of an impaired pharmacist;(4) 'Intervention' means a process whereby an allegedly impaired pharmacist is confronted by the board or board-approved intervenors who provide documentation that a problem exists and attempt to convince the pharmacist to seek evaluation and treatment;(5) 'Rehabilitation' means the process whereby an impaired pharmacist advances in an impaired pharmacist program to an optimal level of competence to practice pharmacy without endangering the public; and(6) 'Verification' means a process whereby alleged professional impairment is identified or established.Amended by Act 2019, No. 386,§ 46, eff. 7/24/2019.Amended by Act 2019, No. 386,§ 45, eff. 7/24/2019.Acts 1991, No. 741, § 1.
