(a) In a nonclinical setting, an athletic trainer may practice the art and science of athletic training under the direction of a physician licensed by the Arkansas State Medical Board.(b) The athletic trainer may practice athletic training in a hospital or outpatient clinic under the direct supervision of a physical therapist and upon the referral of a physician licensed in the State of Arkansas or of a physician licensed by the board.Amended by Act 2021, No. 348,§ 3, eff. 7/28/2021.Acts 1995, No. 1279, § 8; 2001, No. 1124, § 7.
