(a) The Department of Agriculture, in consultation with the Governor, shall develop a plan to monitor and regulate the industrial hemp production program in this state.(b) The Department of Agriculture shall submit the plan developed under subsection (a) of this section to the United States Secretary of Agriculture as this state's plan for monitoring and regulating the production of industrial hemp as provided by 7 U.S.C. 1639p, as it existed on January 1, 2021.(c) The Department of Agriculture shall submit an amended state plan to the United States Department of Agriculture if the Department of Agriculture makes substantive revisions to the state plan or the laws and rules related to the state plan.Added by Act 2021, No. 565,§ 2, eff. 7/28/2021.
