Section 2-40-110 - Canine brucellosis

(a)(1) If a dog tests positive for canine brucellosis, the owner shall: (A) Report the test results to the Department of Agriculture;(B) Immediately have the dog neutered, spayed, or euthanized; and(C) Immediately test all other sexually intact dogs on the premises for canine brucellosis.(2) If the owner is unknown, then the person having custody of the dog shall comply with this section.(3) The sale or adoption of sexually intact dogs from a positive premises is prohibited.(4) A dog that has tested positive for canine brucellosis and that has been neutered or spayed shall have a subsequent negative test before leaving the premises.(b) A person who violates this section is subject to an administrative penalty.Amended by Act 2023, No. 593,§ 2, eff. 8/1/2023.Amended by Act 2017, No. 1011,§ 45, eff. 8/1/2017.Acts 2003, No. 1771, § 1.
