Section 20-15-1202 - Statewide immunization registry

(a)(1) The Department of Health shall establish a statewide immunization registry.(2) Immunization records shall include data as specified by the department.(b) The department may make information in the registry available to the parents or guardians of a child, to providers who report on the immunization status of children in their care, and to such other persons or organizations designated by rule of the State Board of Health.(c) The board shall adopt rules to implement this subchapter, including provisions for confidentiality of medical information.(d) The department may enter into data-sharing agreements with federal, state, and local jurisdictions as well as the nations that are part of the Compact of Free Association islands to ensure effective surveillance and better immunization planning.Amended by Act 2017, No. 880,§ 1, eff. 8/1/2017.Acts 1995, No. 432, § 2; 1997, No. 869, § 1; 2011, No. 179, § 1.
