Section 20-17-704 - Delivery to medical school

Upon expiration of the forty-eight (48) hours as provided in § 20-17-703, if the body of a deceased person has not been claimed for burial, the person then having possession, charge, or control of the unclaimed body shall surrender or deliver the unclaimed body to a medical school if the unclaimed body has been offered to and requested by the medical school.Amended by Act 2019, No. 954,§ 3, eff. 7/24/2019.Amended by Act 2017, No. 147,§ 4, eff. 2/7/2017.Acts 1959, No. 22, § 2; A.S.A. 1947, § 82-405.
