Section 20-20-202 - Legislative intent

(a) The purpose of this subchapter is to regulate in the public interest the distribution, use, and application of pesticides to control pests.(b) Pesticides perform a valuable role in protecting humans and the environment, including agricultural production, from insects, rodents, weeds, and other forms of life which may be pests, but it is essential to the public health and welfare that they be used properly to prevent unreasonable adverse effects on humans and the environment.(c) It is deemed necessary to provide for regulation of the distribution, use, and application of these pesticides.Acts 1975, No. 389, § 3; A.S.A. 1947, § 77-253.
