(a) Boilers and pressure vessels may be tested by hydrostatic pressure one-quarter (1/4) greater than the maximum allowable working pressure when in the judgment of the inspector such a test is necessary to ascertain the true condition of the boiler.(b) All boilers to be tested by hydrostatic pressure shall be filled with water at no less than ambient temperature but in no case less than seventy degrees Fahrenheit (70° F). The metal temperature shall not exceed one hundred twenty degrees Fahrenheit (120° F) during the final examination.(c) The responsibility for hydrostatic testing shall be that of the owner.Acts 1961, No. 494, § 4; A.S.A. 1947, § 81-504; Acts 1999, No. 982, § 10.
