(a) The Department of Health is empowered to license under this subchapter and §§ 20-10-213 - 20-10-231 those hospitals which have discontinued inpatient services to continue to provide emergency services.(b) The emergency services facilities shall be subject to inspection and to all other provisions of this subchapter and §§ 20-10-213 - 20-10-231 and all rules promulgated under this subchapter and §§ 20-10-213 - 20-10-231.(c) Hospital emergency services facilities licensed under this section shall not be required to obtain a certificate of need or any other permit other than that prescribed by this section.Amended by Act 2019, No. 315,§ 1840, eff. 7/24/2019.Acts 1987, No. 516, § 1.
