Section 20-49-202 - Petition

(a) A guardian, in the case of an adult who is an alleged incompetent person, or a parent or guardian, in the case of a minor who is an alleged incompetent person, may petition the court for the sterilization, under this chapter, of an alleged incompetent.(b) The petition shall state and allege the following: (1) The name, age, sex, residence, and post office address of the alleged incompetent person;(2) The name, residence, and post office address of any guardians of the person who is an alleged incompetent person;(3) The names and addresses, so far as known or can reasonably be ascertained, of the persons most closely related to the alleged incompetent by blood or marriage;(4) The name and address of any person or institution having the care and custody of the alleged incompetent person; and(5) That the alleged incompetent person is incompetent, as defined in § 20-49-101(3).Acts 1971, No. 433, ch. 5, § 1; A.S.A. 1947, § 59-501.
