Section 20-57-401 - Kosher foods

A person is guilty of a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500) or by imprisonment of not less than thirty (30) days or not more than six (6) months, in the discretion of the court, who:(1) Shall sell or expose for sale in any restaurant, delicatessen, hotel, or other place where food products are sold, any article of food falsely represented as kosher either by direct statements orally or in writing, or by the display of the word 'kosher' in English or Hebrew letters, by the display of any sign or mark in simulation of the word, or by the display of any insignia, six-pointed star, or any mark which might reasonably be calculated to deceive or lead a reasonable person to believe that a representation is being made that the food exposed for sale, or sold, is kosher or is prepared in accordance with the Orthodox Hebrew religious requirements;(2) With intent to defraud, sells or exposes for sale any meat or meat preparations and falsely represents the product to be kosher, whether the meat preparations are raw or prepared for human consumption, or as having been prepared under, and of products sanctioned by, the Orthodox Hebrew religious
