(a) In any action brought under this act, the court before which the action is pending may compel any president, director, officer, receiver, trustee, or agent of the railroad defendant in the action to attend and testify in the case. The court may compel the production of the books and papers of the railroad corporation party to the action or suit.(b) The claim that any such testimony or evidence may tend to incriminate the person giving the evidence shall not excuse the witness from testifying, but the evidence or testimony shall not be used against the person on the trial of any criminal proceedings.Acts 1887, No. 81, § 8, p. 113; C. & M.
