In order to extend to employees of the State of Arkansas and its political subdivisions and the employees' dependents and survivors the basic protection accorded to others by the federal old age, survivors' and disability insurance, and health insurance coverage embodied in the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. § 301 et seq., it is declared to be the policy of the State of Arkansas, subject to the limitations of this subchapter, that steps be taken to provide protection to employees of the state and its political subdivisions in compliance with the provisions of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. § 301 et seq.Acts 1951, No. 248, § 1; A.S.A. 1947, § 12-2401; Acts 2005, No. 100, § 1.
