Section 27-14-2204 - Reports to Office of Motor Vehicle by owners or lienholders

(a) The owner of or person having a lien or encumbrance upon a registered vehicle which has been stolen or embezzled may notify the Office of Motor Vehicle of the theft or embezzlement, but in the event of an embezzlement, may make a report only after having procured the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of the person charged with the embezzlement.(b) Every owner or other person who has given any such notice must notify the Office of Motor Vehicle of a recovery of the vehicle.Acts 1949, No. 142, § 68; A.S.A. 1947, § 75-168.
