(a) There is established within the Department of Finance and Administration a separate office to be known as the 'Office of Driver Services' which shall, acting under the direction and supervision of the Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration, administer the provisions of this chapter and the other laws of this state regarding the licensing of motor vehicle drivers and the laws relating to the suspension and revocation of their licenses.(b) The secretary shall, upon approval of the Governor, appoint a director of the Office of Driver Services, and the director shall, acting under the supervision of the secretary, serve as the principal administrative officer of the Office of Driver Services.(c) The secretary is the official custodian of records of the Office of Driver Services.Amended by Act 2021, No. 732,§ 7, eff. 7/28/2021.Acts 1965, No. 555, § 2; A.S.A. 1947, § 75-354; Acts 1993, No. 445, § 6.
