(a) A licensee shall have his or her driver's license in his or her immediate possession at all times when operating a motor vehicle and shall display the driver's license upon demand of a justice of the peace, a peace officer, or an employee of the Office of Driver Services.(b) No person charged with violating this section shall be convicted if he or she produces in court a driver's license issued to him or her and valid at the time of his or her arrest.Amended by Act 2023, No. 261,§ 1, eff. 8/1/2023.Amended by Act 2017, No. 557,§ 1, eff. 8/1/2017.Acts 1937, No. 280, § 19; Pope's Dig., § 6843; A.S.A. 1947, § 75-323; Acts 1993, No. 445, § 10.
