Section 27-19-501 - Report required

The driver of a vehicle of a type subject to registration under the motor vehicle laws of this state that is in any manner involved in an accident within this state which accident has resulted in damage to the property of any one (1) person in excess of one thousand dollars ($1,000) or in bodily injury to or in the death of any person shall report the accident to the Office of Driver Services within thirty (30) days after the accident on an electronic or paper form approved by the Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration subject to the exemptions provided in §§ 27-19-509 and 27-19-604.Amended by Act 2019, No. 910,§ 4692, eff. 7/1/2019.Acts 1953, No. 347, § 18; 1973, No. 334, § 1; 1975, No. 1007, § 2; A.S.A. 1947, § 75-1418; Acts 1991, No. 721, § 1; 2001, No. 1156, § 1; 2005, No. 199, § 1.
