Section 27-19-609 - Authority to adjust amount limited

(a) The Office of Driver Services may adjust the amount of security ordered in any case within six (6) months after the date of the accident, but only if and limited to the extent it determines a mistake was made in determining whether the accident resulted in bodily injury or death to one (1) person or two (2) or more persons in any one (1) accident or to the injury to or the destruction of property of others in any one (1) accident, or a combination of these.(b) In case the security originally ordered has been deposited, the excess deposit over the reduced amount ordered shall be returned to the depositor or his or her personal representative forthwith.Acts 1953, No. 347, § 37; 1975, No. 1007, § 6; A.S.A. 1947, § 75-1437; Acts 1993, No. 912, § 3.
