Section 27-36-206 - Lamps on parked vehicles

(a) Whenever a vehicle is parked or stopped upon a roadway or shoulder adjacent thereto, whether attended or unattended during the times mentioned in § 27-36-204, the vehicle shall be equipped with one (1) or more lamps which shall exhibit a white or amber light on the roadway side visible from a distance of five hundred feet (500') to the front of the vehicle and a red light visible a distance of five hundred feet (500') to the rear.(b) Local authorities may provide by ordinance or resolution that no lights need be displayed upon any vehicle when stopped or parked in accordance with local parking regulations upon a highway where there is sufficient light to reveal any person or object within a distance of five hundred feet (500') upon the highway.(c) Any lighted headlamps upon a parked vehicle shall be depressed or dimmed.Acts 1937, No. 300, § 109; Pope's Dig., § 6769; Acts 1961, No. 7, § 1; A.S.A. 1947, § 75-707.
