(a) All proposals covering work to be performed on state aid roads in each county in this state shall be under contract let and approved by the State Highway Commission upon a request from the county judge of the county and in accordance with the procedures prescribed in § 27-67-206, and other laws of this state pertaining to contracts for the construction of state highways, which laws shall be equally applicable to all contracts let by the commission for the construction of state aid roads under this subchapter.(b) The county judge of any county is authorized to submit bids for work to be performed on state aid roads under the provisions of this subchapter, and nothing contained herein shall be construed to limit or restrict the right of a county judge to submit bids for work to be performed by county forces so long as the bids are in accordance with procedures prescribed in § 27-67-206, and the aggregate cost thereof does not exceed five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000).Amended by Act 2023, No. 212,§ 2, eff. 8/1/2023.Amended by Act 2013, No. 299,§ 1, eff. 8/16/2013.Acts 1973, No. 445, § 12; 1985, No. 996, § 2; A.S.A. 1947, § 76-458; Acts 1997, No. 1091, § 1; 2007, No. ended by Act 2023, No. 212,§ 2, eff. 8/1/2023.Amended by Act 2013, No. 299,§ 1, eff. 8/16/2013.Acts 1973, No. 445, § 12; 1985, No. 996, § 2; A.S.A. 1947, § 76-458; Acts 1997, No. 1091, § 1; 2007, No. 164, § 1.
