Section 5-55-203 - Illegal presentation of food coupons or vouchers for payment

(a)(1) Any person who presents or causes to be presented food coupons for payment or redemption of the value of one hundred dollars ($100) or more knowing the food coupons to have been received, transferred, or used in any manner in violation of a provision of the Food Stamp Act of 1977, 7 U.S.C. § 2011 et seq., or the federal regulations or state rules issued pursuant to the Food Stamp Act of 1977, 7 U.S.C. § 2011 et seq., is guilty of a Class D felony.(2) However, if the food coupons are of a value of less than one hundred dollars ($100), the person is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.(b) Any person who presents or causes to be presented vouchers for payment or redemption of the value of one hundred dollars ($100) or more knowing the vouchers to have been received, transferred, or used in any manner in violation of a provision of the federal Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) authorized by the Child Nutrition Act of 1966, 42 U.S.C. § 1771 et seq., as amended, or the federal regulations or state rules issued pursuant to the Child Nutrition Act of 1966, 42 U.S.C. § 1771 et seq., is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.Amended by Act 2019, No.
