(a) As used in this section: (1) 'Law enforcement officer' means any member of the Division of Arkansas State Police or the Arkansas Highway Police Division of the Arkansas Department of Transportation and any other certified law enforcement officer employed full time by the State of Arkansas or any political subdivision of the State of Arkansas or court personnel in Arkansas; and(2) 'Public official' means any person holding or appointed to an elective office of state, county, or city government and any member of any board or commission of state, county, city, or local government including an improvement district or school district.(b) Any public official or law enforcement officer who commits a felony violation of this chapter shall have any term of imprisonment imposed for the violation enhanced by a term not to exceed ten (10) years and a fine of not less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000).Amended by Act 2017, No. 707,§ 3, eff. 8/1/2017.Acts 1989 (3rd Ex.
