Creation of a new school district by detachment shall be initiated by:(1) Resolution of the board of directors of each school district from which territory is to be detached; or(2) A petition that is presented to the State Board of Education pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter.Acts 2001, No. 1673, § 1.
