Section 6-15-3201 - School eligibility

A public school district with a 'D' or 'F' school rating according to the most recent results of the school rating system under § 6-15-2101 et seq., or a school district classified as in need of Level 5 - Intensive support by the State Board of Education shall be eligible for an exemption from sanctions or action under §§ 6-15-2915, 6-15-2916, and 6-15-2917, and qualify for funding provided under § 6-15-3203 if the public school district board of directors contracts with a partner to operate a public school district transformation campus with:(1) The governing body of an open-enrollment public charter school; or(2) Another entity, as approved by the State Board of Education.Added by Act 2023, No. 237,§ 14, eff. 3/8/2023.This act shall be known and may be cited as the 'LEARNS Act'.
