Section 6-15-3203 - Incentives

(a) The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education shall seek to encourage transformation charter operators to enter into contracts with eligible public school districts.(b)(1) For purposes of accountability during the first two (2) school years of operation, a public school transformation campus shall be: (A)(i) Awarded with an alternate letter grade, which shall be established and defined by the State Board of Education.(ii) While a public school transformation campus is receiving an alternate letter grade under subdivision (b)(1)(A)(i) of this section, the State of Arkansas shall not impose a sanction or take action against the public school transformation campus for failure to satisfy academic performance standards; and(B) Publicly signaled as a public school transformation campus.(2) Following the first two (2) years of transformation, the state shall continue to evaluate and assign all performance ratings received by all public schools within a public school district to the public school district transformation campus that has entered into a contract under § 6-15-3202.(c) The division may provide, through state and federal funds where allowable, financial incentives to
